The city of Gosnell will be celebrating its 50th anniversary Saturday, April 21.
The celebration will feature a parade with all former city leaders, i.e. chief of police, councilmen, mayors, etc.
A live band will also participate in the parade. Any former city leader who wishes to participate may do so; the line-up will start at 9:30 a.m. at Subway and the parade will begin at 10 a.m.
After the parade, the city will be holding a dedication to its founding fathers. Each will be honored with a key to the city. Those being honored include the late Mayor Andy Bevill, City Attorney Richard Reid, former Chief of Police John Parish and former city councilman James Southard.
The event will also host a baking contest; the winner will be announced at 1 p.m. Carnival rides for kids will also be available as well as a petting zoo. At 2 p.m. a 3K Color Run will take place, later in the evening (6 p.m.) Travis Smith will open for Corey Jackson.
