GOSNELL — The Gosnell Pirates (6-13) knocked the ball all over the field, Thursday, against 4A-3 Conference rival the Trumann Wildcats in a 23-6 victory.
The Pirates jumped out to a 20-0 lead after the first inning.
Pirates freshman Brayden Burcham got things started with a two-run blast and later in the inning senior Andy Roberts hit a homer.
The Pirates collected 23 hits on the day.
Gosnell freshman pitcher Cameron Ruth earned the win for the Pirates. He lasted four innings, allowing five runs on three hits; he also struck out 10 Wildcats batter.
The Pirates also picked up an 11-0 victory against the Manila Lions Tuesday. They will host the Rivercrest Colts this Tuesday at 4 p.m.
The Gosnell Lady Pirates (6-6) were defeated 11-3 Thursday by the Trumann Lady Wildcats.
The Lady Pirates offense was led by Janala Adams (1-3), Cannon Leigh Curtis (2-3 with two runs scored) and Grace Sheppard (2-3 with a run scored).
The Lady Pirates are set to face the Rivercrest Lady Colts Tuesday, April 17.
