Dorothy J. Farrow
Dorothy J. Farrow, 75, of Manila, passed away. Surrounded by her loved ones Wednesday afternoon, April 4, 2018, after a long battle with illness, she went to be with the Lord. She was born Nov. 22, 1942, in Leachville to Gene and Dorthy (Hall) Carter. Dorothy lived the majority of life in Manila. She was a graduate of Manila High School. She had an extensive career in her life. Her last, being a door greeter at the Blytheville Wal-Mart, from where she retired.
She enjoyed vacationing at the beach, spending time with the grandkids, watching old movies, puzzle books and the occasional game of rummy or rook. One of her biggest joys was sitting with ladies in the Pine View Apartments and exchanging old tales.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a younger sister, Gay (Carter) Jones, and older brother, Harold Carter.
She is survived by her daughter, Mia (Cory) Quarles of Mountain Home; three granddaughters, Brook (Jeremy) Westbrook of Clinton, Ky., Payden Quarles and Sidney Quarles, both of Mountain Home; two great-granddaughters, Aubree and Addison Westbrook, both of Clinton, Ky.; a niece, Angie (Shane) Thompson; cousin and best friend, Clora (Eulis) Johnson; and her family with a very special relationship with Hunter Hawkins, all of Manila. Dorothy was blessed with many more family and friends who loved her.
To honor her request, there will not be a funeral service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
