Manila rolled over Corning 73-55 in senior boys basketball action Tuesday, Dec. 19, at Lion Gym.

The Lions raced to a 14-4 lead after the first period. Corning closed the gap to 35-29 at the half, but Manila pulled away to a 57-42 advantage after three quarters.

Joel Burrow led the Lions with 17 points while Abraham Lopez knocked down four three pointers and finished with 14 points. Conner Belew had 13 and Daley Belew tallied with 11 as four Lions put up double figures. Brock Birmingham netted nine, Trenton Thomas and Garrett Hart chipped in four points each while Brian Gonzalez added one point.

In the junior high contest, Corning rallied from an early deficit and overcame Manila 50-45 to remain unbeaten on the season. The Lions held a 14-2 lead after the first period before taking a 22-17 advantage into halftime. Corning overtook Manila in the third quarter to grab a 35-32 edge.

Colby Briney led the Bobcats with 20 points while Jayden Wiedeman added 18. Ty Wagner pumped in a game high 24 points to top the Lions while Austin Harmon scored 10. Tyler Perez tallied seven while Matthew Gipson and Jake Baltimore added two points apiece.
