Hazel Nutt Beck
Mrs. Hazel Nutt Beck, 90, of Gosnell, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017 after a long illness.
Born July 3, 1927 in Paris, Arkansas to Harvey and Magdaline Lackey, Hazel graduated high school from Braggadocio, Missouri. She accepted the Lord as her savior and was baptized at Caruthersville Baptist Church as a young adult. Hazel married Fred Nutt in 1947 and they had five children. She worked at Randall Company for many years while raising her children. She was an excellent cook and her specialty was “fried taters and banana puddin”. Hazel was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Beck; first husband, Fred Nutt; parents, Harvey and Magdaline Lackey; son, Gary Nutt; daughter, Laura Cason; son-in-law, Ben Corona; sisters, Margaret Bennett and Martha Coffey; and sisters-in-law, Margie Rhodes and Mary Northcutt.
Hazel leaves her beloved children, Jan Nutt Corona of Blytheville, Deloris Jones and her husband Eldon of West Memphis and Kevin Nutt and his wife Lisa of Gosnell; grandchildren, Allen Hall, Corey Corona, Clint Smith (Amber), Jason Downing (Beth), Jenna Bailey (Trae), DeAnna Smith, Shaun Nutt, and Kristi Green (Zack); seven great-grandchildren; niece, Tina Donner; nephew, Danny Hoskins; and many other nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, October 27 at Elmwood Cemetery with Dr. Max Briley officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home.
