The Manila junior Lions got a late touchdown by Carter Walker in a 20-14 come-from-behind conference win at Piggott Thursday night. The Lions got a big game from quarterback Zach Morris, as he led all rushers and accounted for the other two Manila touchdowns.

The hosts got on the scoreboard first Thursday evening, as Piggott's Michael Parker broke a 35 yard touchdown run early in the contest, although the two point conversion attempt was no good.

The Lions answered at the 2:14 mark of the first quarter as Morris carried it in from three yards out, but the Manila conversion attempt was also no good and the score stood tied at 6-6.

The Mohawks added a six yard touchdown run in the second quarter by Trent Stevens, with quarterback Brandon Seal hitting Logan Ralph with a pass for the two pointer to make it 14-6.

The Lions answered with Morris' second touchdown of the game at the 6:31 mark of the third quarter as he carried it in from two yards out. The Manila QB then added the two point conversion to tie the score at 14-14.

Neither team could find paydirt the remainder of the third, or throughout much of the fourth quarter, as the contest appeared to be headed for a tie. But, the Lions got a lucky break as Walker broke a 47-yard run with just 22 seconds to play. Once again the conversion attempt was no good, as the final score was set.

Morris led all rushers with 192 yards on 19 carries, Walker netted just 35 yards in spite of the game winning run and Jordan Spray had 34 yards on 13 carries. The Mohawks were led by Parker with 106 yards on 11 carries.
