Bettye Mac Wilmoth Webb
Mrs. Bettye Mac Wilmoth Webb, 83, died Saturday, October 14, 2017 at her residence in the Tater Hills Community of Lee County, Mississippi after an extended illness. Bettye was born on June 23, 1934 in Etowah, Arkansas to the late Robert H. Wilmoth and Myrtle Narcissus Harrison Wilmoth. She grew up there and attended the Mississippi County school. She was a member for life of Etowah Baptist Church but, when she returned to Tupelo, Miss. from Arkansas in 2002, she attended the New Hope Baptist Church. Bettye made her life work as a caregiver for the elderly. She enjoyed playing cards, cooking, her flowers and the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. She was married for many years to Elmer D. Webb, who preceded her in death on Oct. 2, 2014.
A service celebrating her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at the Etowah Baptist Church in Etowah, with Bro. Ron Langston and Bro. Marshall Lum officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden Point Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. There will be no local visitation in Tupelo. Holland funeral directors of Tupelo Chapel is honored to be serving the family.
Bettye is survived by her son, David Webb and wife Carol of Tater Hills, Miss.; her daughter, Jenny Webb McCommon and her husband, Joe, of Meridian, Miss.; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Catherine Wilmoth “Dink” Kroepfl of Little Rock, Sally Wilmoth McMechen of Jonesboro and Carol Wilmoth Kincaid of Scottsboro, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer D. Webb; her son, Edward Dee Webb; four sisters, Billie Ann Wilmoth, Jane W. Anderson, Sue W. Brothers and Imogene W. Martin and two brothers, Robert Henry Wilmoth, Jr. and Andrew Anderson Wilmoth.
