Dr. Amanda Copeland
Mayflower -- Dr. Amanda Copeland, 88, passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017. She was born Aug. 13, 1928, in Craighead County, Arkansas, to the late Walker and Elsie Baldridge. She earned her doctorate in education and went on to teach at Nettleton High School in Jonesboro from 1960 to 1970. Then she became the Kiamichi Technology Center director in Stigler, Okla., from 1989 to 1995. She was also a marriage and psychology counselor and a Red Cross member. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her two daughters, Ravaina Lynn Copeland and Nancy Mae Baldree; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, C.S. Copeland Jr.; son, C.W. Copeland; as well as two brothers, Devain Baldridge and Raymond Baldridge.
The family will receive friends from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette.
A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Macey Cemetery near Monette with Bro. Alan Ashlock officiating.
