Jenn2 was welcomed to Caraway with a ribbon cutting on Thursday, Aug. 3. Longtime friends, Jennifer Smith and Jennifer Powell, opened Jenn2 (Jenn Square) Boutique offering women and children's clothing, jewelry, candles and gift items.
The new business is located in the former Backwoods Barbecue building.
Owners have been friends since elementary days. Ms. Smith moved away for 15 years and recently moved back to Caraway.
What started as an online business turned into a shop.
“We had a good reception online and people wanted to see the clothing and try on the items,” Smith said.
Both women have other occupations and the new boutique will be open from 6-8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. If anyone needs to visit at a different time they can call (870) 926-7028 or 219-3282 for an appointment.
Items will be posted on their Facebook page and they will ship purchases out of the area.
“When we are stocking items we ask ourselves, would we wear it and would we pay that much for it,” Powell said. “We want to offer comfortable clothes at a good price.”
The candles are from Southern Soy Scents out of Marion. Monogramming will be available on wallets and cups. Future plans include offering local tee shirt brands. Powell's husband, Brent, is opening a screen printing business and will be providing tee shirts.
The new shop has a dressing area. New items will be added to the selections.
Mayor Barry Riley was on hand for the ribbon cutting welcoming the new business to Caraway.
“We are always elated to have new businesses open in Caraway,” Mayor Riley said.
