Douglas Howard Dodson
Douglas Howard Dodson, 74, of Manila, passed from this life Monday, July 31, 2017, at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born at Lake City he was the son of the late Raymond and Lorine Williams Dodson and was raised in the Lepanto area. He was a retired truck driver for Cummins Diesel Recon in Memphis and enjoyed camping, fishing, watching football and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Douglas Dodson Jr. and one sister, Sharon Nelson.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Dodson of the home; two sons, Chad Dodson of Nesbit, Miss., and Zachery Dodson of Manila; two daughters, Sandy Barker (Gary) of Mount Washington, Ky., and Lisa Boswell (Mike) of Cordova, Tenn.; two sisters, Sheila Brown of Clinton, Miss., and Renee Hamilton of Wilson. He also leaves four grandchildren, Amanda Via, Chris Boswell, Courtney Boswell and Dalton Dodson, and two great-grandchildren, Rylee Collins and Emalynn Via.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Gary Barker officiating. The family will receive visitors Friday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.
