The Second Judicial District Drug Task Force, the Osceola Police Department, the Blytheville Police Department, the Jonesboro Police Department, the Wilson Police Department and the Arkansas State Police executed six search warrants in Osceola Tuesday.

The warrants were in support of an investigation related to a neighborhood based criminal organization involved in the sale of crack cocaine and methamphetamine in the Osceola area. More than 75 officers representing the departments participated in the execution of the warrants.

According to the release, “As a result of the operation, officers located approximately 40 grams of cocaine and approximately 20 grams of methamphetamine along with numerous items of paraphernalia including baggies, scales, and pipes. Officers also located two handguns that have been reported stolen and $1,555 in U.S. currency.”

Police arrested 37-year-old Marquette Smith and 62-year-old Hollen Jefferson, both of Osceola. More arrests are anticipated.
