Barbara Jean-Jackson-Jennings
Mrs. Barbara Jean Jackson-Jennings was born September 16, 1950 to Ms. Freddie L. Smith and Mr. Henry Jackson. Barbara was the sixth child. Barbara attended Harrison High School in Blytheville. Barbara relocated to Chicago, Ill. in 1972. A woman of many professions, she became a homemaker in 1989. Barbara married her longtime mate, Texter R.A. Jennings on June 24, 2010.
Barbara departed this life on July 15,2017 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving daughter and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Freddie L. Smith and Henry Jackson; her husband, Texter R. A. Jennings; brothers, Ira l. Sharp, Willie C. Williams, Roosevelt H. Jackson and Henry Jackson Jr.; sisters, Ella Mae Thompson and Rosalie Jackson; stepchild, Tony Jennings; and nephew, Anthony Lamar Glasper.
Barbara leaves to cherish her memory her son, Willis D. (Cynthia) Golden and daughter, Valerie D.(Steven) Glasper-Brown; special grandchildren, Les’lee, Jamiliah, and Jha’Kai; brothers, James E. Ross, Willis (Theresa) Bailey, L.C.(Sandra) Jackson, Charles (Livinia) Jackson and Robert (Evelyn) Jackson; sisters, Ella Mae Thompson, Juanita Pounds and RoseMarie Glasper-Quarles; three special daughters, Anita (Clarence) Williams, Brenda Chapman and Melisa (Rickey) Logan; fourteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a host of other nieces; nephews; cousins; family and special friends.
Visitation will be held from noon until 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2017. Service will follow at 1 p.m. at New Faith Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be at Gethsemane Cemetery.
