Caraway Mayor Barry Riley and city council members met in a special called meeting Thursday evening with one item (police vehicles) on the agenda.
The council agreed unanimously to purchase two 2017 Ford Explorers from Cavenaugh Ford in Jonesboro.
The city will be trading in the following police cars, 2008 Dodge, 2010 Dodge, and a 2012 Dodge.
The cost of the new vehicles will be $40,890; with an additional cost of $9,810 to equip them. The total cost will be approximately $50,500 to be paid from the city's one cent sales tax fund.
All council members were present except John Boatman.
