Mrs. Shirley Ann Lipford
Mrs. Shirley Ann Lipford, 82, of Bangor, Michigan and formerly of Blytheville, passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2017.
Shirley was born in Blytheville to Leonard and Brucie (Barnes) White. Shirley married Marvin Lipford, February 26, 1953 in Blytheville and lived here the majority of her life until she retired to Mountain View. She moved to Bangor, Michigan in 2012 to live with her daughter. She was an artist and a poet. While in Blytheville, she enjoyed many community activities including the Mississippi County Writers Guild, Beta Sigma Phi sorority, Blytheville Women’s Club, Women’s Auxiliary and was an active member of North Tenth Street Baptist Church, serving many years as a Sunday School Teacher, and in the Women’s Ministries.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; a son, John Alan; a sister, Jacque Hardin; and her brother, Robert “Bobby” White.
Shirley leaves her two children, David Lipford of Norfork Lake, Arkansas and Kerri (Dan) Zantello of Bangor, Michigan; four grandchildren, Jennifer Lipford, Marcus (Amy) Lipford, Adam (Elise) Zantello and Annah Ruth Zantello; eight great-grandchildren, Courtney, Madison, Abby, Tori, Whitney, Ayla, Grace, and Thomas Daniel; one sister, Mary Jane (Earnest) Allen of Mountain View, Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 28 at 10:30 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Max Briley officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to North Tenth Street Baptist Church or the Mississippi County Writers Guild.
