Billy Lee Hart
Billy Lee Hart, 76, passed away Monday, July 17, 2017, at his home in Lake City. He was born Jan. 25, 1941 in Phoenix, Ariz., to the late Varie Pannells Hart. He was a farmer, enjoyed driving around looking at crops, fishing, smoking, working on vehicles, watching old tv shows, especially old westerns, and was Dolly Parton’s biggest fan.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Maria Hart of the home; one son, Mark Hart (Beth) of Trumann; two daughters, Billie Hart of Leachville and Laura Carmichael (Jonathan) of Black Oak; two brothers, William Henderson (Velda), and Joe Carrol Henderson (Vicki), both of Monette; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Cecil Henderson; one son, Paul Matthew Hart; one daughter, Virginia “Gail” Smithee; one sister, Pat Henderson; one brother, Gary Henderson.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 20, at the New Hope Baptist Church, Black Oak, with Bro. Heath Hawkins officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, at the church. Interment will follow at Macey Cemetery under the direction of Faith Funeral Service of Manila.
Pallbearers are Nick Willyerd, Daniel Carmichael, Allen Carmichael, Wayne McCoy, Mark Hart and Eric Lambert. Honorary pallbearers were granddaughters.
