Taylor Layne, son of Chip and Ashley Layne, is a 2017 graduate of Bay High School. Taylor will be attending Williams Baptist College this fall on a baseball scholarship.
Taylor was chosen to play on the All Star East baseball team.
He and his friend and East teammate, Gavin Stone, of Riverside represented their schools very well.
Taylor is the grandson of Skip and Marla Layne and John and Teresa Angle, all of of Jonesboro. He is the great-grandson of Billie Layne of Monette, Oliver and Jean Cook of Jonesboro and Jean Cline, also of Jonesboro.
Taylor's dad, Chip, is a graduate of Buffalo Island Central High School. He has served as superintendent at Bay for 15 years. The family will be moving to Mammoth Spring where he has accepted the position of superintendent. Chip coached there for three years and served as high school principal before moving to Bay.
Their daughter, Whitlee Layne, will be a junior and play her last two years for the Lady Bears of Mammoth Spring.
Her Bay team won the state title last year and Whitlee was named MVP.
Taylor and Whitlee both made Best Under The Sun teams and were honorees at the banquet held on Thursday night. Whitlee made it for Basketball and Taylor made it for both basketball and baseball.
