The man accused of robbing Southern Bancorp of $60 on April 11, 2016 was found not guilty in a directed verdict on Thursday.

Mississippi County Circuit Court Judge Cindy Thyer ruled that there was not enough evidence of a threat, shown or implied — an element of a robbery — and cleared Maleke Dority of charges.

Dority was accused of robbing Southern Bancorp, 1040 East Main.

"When employees opened the cash drawer, the offender reached over the counter and into the cash drawer taking approximately $60 in cash," Blytheville Police Department Capt. Scott Adams said in a press release in April 2016. " The offender then fled the bank on foot running east..."
