Phyllis Kay Greathouse
Phyllis Kay Greathouse, 67, of Leachville, passed from this life Saturday, April 29, 2017, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. Born Dec. 10, 1949, in Leachville to the late James Andrew and Virgie Williams Anthony, she was a 1967 graduate of Leachville High School and was a retired beautician. A lifelong Leachville resident, she was an active member of the Milligan Ridge Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and served as church pianist for over 34 years.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Dwight Anthony, and a son, Mark Greathouse.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Fred Greathouse of Leachville; two sons, Lee Greathouse of Monette and Brad Greathouse and wife Shaunya of Brookland; one brother, Jimmy Anthony and wife Paulette of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Guinette Sims and husband Don of Monette; and six grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Mike Colvin and Rev. Jerry Jolly officiating. Burial will follow in Leachville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Lee Barker, Cole Minton, Michael Minton, Steven Greathouse, Pat Bader, and James Pendergrass. Honorary pallbearers will include Anthony Sims and members of the Milligan Ridge Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Tuesday from noon until service time at the funeral home.
