A Kennett infant was treated at Great River Medical Center and later flown to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, after suffering from a fractured skull and several broken ribs.

The Blytheville Police Department report noted the child also had super glue around his mouth.

According to the BPD incident report, the three-month-old boy’s babysitter brought him from Kennett to Great River Medical Center, after noticing the bruising and swelling on the left side of his face, bruising to both arms and legs and dried blood around his nose.

“The child also had what appeared to be super glue around his mouth,” the report said.

The babysitter told police that the child’s mother picked him up on Friday and took him to Kennett. The babysitter later received a call from the mother’s sister asking her to come check on the child.

She found the child being watched by another juvenile and, after seeing his condition, drove him to GRMC.

When contacted by Blytheville police, the mother reportedly told them she was on her way to the hospital but never arrived.

Police contacted the Department of Human Services and notified the Kennett Police Department of the incident.

Kennett Police Department Lt. John Higgins told the Courier News that the case is under investigation, and there have been no arrests at this time.
