Marked Tree scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to tie the game at 6 only to see Manila get a walk-off single from Madison Bibbs in the bottom half to take a 7-6 win over the Lady Indians this past Monday in Marked Tree. Manila was the home team due to a location change because of the weather.
The Lady Indians got on the board first with a run in the top of the first inning. Ally Byers led off with a walk before Tiana Morris popped out. Harley Daniels' fielder's choice grounder forced Byers out at second. Cam Willoughby singled before her and courtesy runner Naysha Moore moved up on a wild pitch. Moore scored a little later on another wild pitch before Bailey Dunn was hit by a pitch. Taylor Hannah struck out for out three with Marked Tree up 1-0. Madison Bibbs went down looking to start off the bottom of the first for Manila as Taylor Hampton was hit by a pitch. Ashley Rothwell's fielder's choice grounder forced Hampton at second base before Tessa Pannells reached on an error that scored Rothwell making it 1-1. Hannah Teague followed with a single that plated Tessa Pannells to give the Lady Lions a 2-1 lead. Jill Helton lined out to end the inning.
Brittany Pharis was hit by a pitch leading off the second inning for Marked Tree as Dejania Thomas followed with a single. Both runners moved up on a passed ball only to be left on base as Angel Barnes struck out, Byers popped out and Morris struck out. Ashlyn Jolly struck out leading off the bottom of the second inning for Manila as Kaitlyn Weathers looked at strike three for the second out. Ali Smith reached on an infield single, Bibbs was hit by a pitch as Hampton singled to load the bases. Rothwell grounded out ending the inning with the score 2-1 Marked Tree. Daniels singled to lead off the top of the third for the Lady Indians and went to second on an errant throw from the outfield. Willoughby flew out and courtesy runner Moore was caught to far off base and was doubled up. Dunn coaxed a two-out walk before Hannah popped out for the third out. Manila went down in order as Tessa Pannells, Teague and Helton all grounded out with the score staying 2-1 Marked Tree.
The Lady Indians went down in order in the top of the fourth inning as Pharis and Thomas both struck out before Barnes grounded out. Jolly grounded out leading off for Manila as Weathers went down looking for the second out. Smith struck out looking but reached first when the first baseman missed the drop strike throw from the catcher. Bibbs popped out to end the inning with the score 2-1 Lady Indians. Byers singled leading off the top of the fifth for Marked Tree before Morris had a bunt single. Daniels reached on an error that scored Byers making it 3-1 Lady Indians. Willoughby's ground out scored Morris as Dunn grounded out to plate Moore making it 4-2 Marked Tree. Hannah walked before Pharis' fielder's choice grounded forced Hannah out at second base. Hampton struck out for Manila leading off the bottom half of the fifth before Rothwell doubled. Tessa Pannells followed with a single before a double steal scored Rothewell and sent Tessa Pannells to second. Teague watched strike three go by as Helton drew a walk. Jolly grounded out ending the inning with Marked Tree up 4-3.
Sydney Rotscheid grounded out for Marked Tree leading off the top of the sixth inning as Barnes reached second on an error by Manila. Byers flew out before Morris struck out keeping the score 4-3 Lady Indians. Beth Rawson reached on a throwing error and went all the way third to start the bottom of the sixth for Manila before being replaced by pinch runner Ashley Adams. Smith popped out only to see Bibbs triple to score Adams making it 4-4. Hampton was hit by a pitch before Bibbs scored on a passed ball making it 5-4 Lady Lions. Rothwell walked as Tessa Pannells grounded out with Hampton scoring to make the score 6-4 Manila. Teague lined out to left to the inning. Daniels singled to lead off the top of the seventh for Marked Tree as Moore came in to run. Willougby followed with a double putting runners on second and third. Dunn lined out to second who tried to flip it to second for a double play but no one was there as Moore raced home making it 6-5 Manila. Hannah was hit by a pitch before Pharis singled to load the bases. Rotschied walked to score Willoughby tying the game at 6. Barnes' fielder's choice forced Hannah at home plate before Byers grounded out for the third out. Helton popped out for Manila to start the bottom half of the inning as Jolly drew a walk. Pinch-hitter Sydney Peacock struck out looking before Smith singled. Both runner moved up a base on a passed ball before Bibbs single just inside the third base bag scored Jolly with the winning run making the final 7-6 Lady Lions.
Willoughby led Marked Tree at the plate with two hits, a run and a RBI, Daniels had two hits, Byers and Morris had a hit and a run each, Rotscheid had a RBI with Pharis and Thomas each getting a hit. Moore scored three runs for the Lady Indians.
Daniels was tagged with the loss for Marked Tree as she gave up seven runs on eight hits in seven innings of work. She walked three, struck out eight and hit three batters.
Bibbs collected two hits, scored a run and had two RBIs to lead the Lady Lions. Tessa Pannells had a hit, a run, a RBI and two stolen bases, Teague had a hit and a RBI, Rothwell had a hit, two runs and a stolen base, Hampton had a hit and a run, Smith finished with two hits as Jolly and Adams each scored a run.
Tessa Pannells got the win for the Lady Lions as she pitched a complete game giving up six runs on eight hits with four walks, six strikeouts and three hit batsmen.
