Around 2:05 p.m. Monday afternoon the Blytheville Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 100 block of West Missouri Street. Around 2:05 p.m. Monday afternoon the Blytheville Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 100 block of West Missouri Street. When units arrived on the scene they saw light smoke coming from the home. They also observed two occupants, one adult male and one adult female in the front yard of the home. Crews immediately began pulling the hose line and quickly extinguished the kitchen fire. Moderate fire damage was done to the kitchen. The two occupants said that they had fallen asleep and were awakened by the fire. The adult male attempted to remove a pan of hot grease from the kitchen area, and in doing so; he spilled hot grease on his upper extremities. Pafford Ambulance Service arrived on the scene within minutes and the burn victim was transported directly to Regional One Medical Center in Memphis. His condition is unknown at this time.
