Jacob Thomas Craig, 18, of Lake City, was sentenced to 60 years in prison for first degree murder and robbery.

Craig plead guilty to the charges and received 40 years for murder and 20 years for robbery to be served consecutively on Monday, March 6.

The defendent has been held in the Craighead County Detention Center since his arrest on Sunday, May 1, 2016, in connection of the murder of Jimmy Hall, 73, of Lake City. The murder took place on April 29.

According to a report Craig got his vehicle stuck, walked to Mr. Hall's home and asked to use the telephone. The victim reportedly told Craig he would call someone for him but would not let him in the house. Craig told the police he got angry and grabbed Hall and forced his way into the home where he stabbed Mr. Hall.

Mr. Hall's body was found later in the day by a family member.
