The Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred Friday morning in Osceola involving three juveniles.

At approximately 1:40 am, the Osceola Police Department responded to a call of a robbery at the Shell gas station -- 4610 West Keiser St --located along I-55 in Osceola.

"Multiple OPD officers arrived and took one subject into custody, as another subject attempted to enter a vehicle in the parking lot that did not belong to him," an ASP press release reads. "One of the officers attempted to remove the juvenile from the vehicle and discharged their weapon, striking the subject. The subject was transported to a hospital in Memphis. A third juvenile ran from the scene."

The release said no law enforcement officers were injured during the incident.

"Questions relating to the identity of law enforcement personnel or their administrative status should be directed to the local agencies where the officers are employed," the release said. "Upon completion of the investigation, state police special agents will submit an investigative file to the Mississippi County prosecuting attorney for consideration to determine whether the use of deadly force by a law enforcement officer was justified as defined by state laws."
