Corning ended Manila's season with a 61-36 victory over the Lady Lions in the first round of the 3A District Tournament Tuesday night at Osceola.

The Lady Bobcats jumped on Manila early and held a 9-2 advantage after the first period, with the Lady Lions' only score coming on a Hannah McQueen 12-foot jumper. Manila fought back in the second quarter, and closed to within a single point on three different occasions, the last coming at the 4:17 mark, when Sydney Adcock's 10-foot runner pulled the Lady Lions to within 13-12. Kaitlyn Carpenter nailed a pair of three pointers to close out the half with the Lady Bobcats on top, 22-15.

The third period belonged to Corning's leading scorer, Kaytie Manatt, who tallied 10 points as the Lady Bobcats built a double-digit lead. Manila desperately tried to hang on, getting a pair of treys from Hannah Teague and another from McQueen, but the frame ended with Corning ahead 38-28. The Lady Bobcats outscored Manila 23-8 in the final frame to pull away, advancing to the semifinal round.

Manatt scored a game high 24 points to lead Corning while Ashley Payne chipped in 14 and Carpenter added 11. The Lady Bobcats connected on 11-18 from the foul line and knocked down seven three pointers.

Adcock finished with a team high 14 points to pace the Lady Lions. Teague closed out her Manila career with nine points, McQueen scored seven, Jordan Tyler finished with four while Tessa Pannells added two points. Manila struggled from the foul line, making just one of 10 attempts. The Lady Lions dropped in five treys.
