The following are reports from the Blytheville Police Department.
-- Police investigated an aggravated assault in the 300 block of East Sawyer. The victim said he noticed a car for sale on the Blytheville Yard Sale Facebook page and contacted the owner who met the offender to see the vehicle. The victim went with two others to see the car and, when he arrived, the offender called his name, asked "how can I help you," and pointed a pistol at his head. The victim said he started backing up and the offender pushed him. The victim grabbed the offender's arm that was holding the gun, and they both fell to the ground, according to the report. During the struggle, the two other men with the victim went back to the vehicle, and the offender let go of the gun. When he put the gun down, the victim went to the vehicle and left the area with the other two men.
-- Police investigated a shooting in the 700 block of East Walnut. The victim said he was inside the home when he heard three gunshots and the windows break. The backdoor had also been shot.
-- Officers took a theft report at El Puerto on East Main. A cash box with $400 was reported missing.
-- Police investigated an assault report in the 600 block of East Walnut. The victim said the offender blocked the road with his truck and trailer, causing traffic to become congested. Then, the offender exited his vehicle with a cattle prod and ignited the cattle prod when he approached the victim's vehicle, making threatening statements. When the other vehicles began to honk, the offender left the scene.
-- Officers investigated a commercial burglary at Fasco on South Division.
-- Police investigated an aggravated assault in the 500 block of South Lake. The offender pointed a gun at the victim.
-- Police cited Mary Lasoya on shoplifting charges (two packages of meat) at Hays Grocer on West Moultrie.
-- Police took a domestic battery report in the 100 block of East Magnolia.
-- Police took a criminal mischief report in the 1300 block of Dogwood. The offender loosened the victim's lug nuts on the car.
-- Officers investigated an arson reported in the 200 block of Dougan. A 1991 Chevrolet Camaro was set on fire.
-- Officers took a harassment report at Blytheville High School.
-- Police arrested two juveniles on charges of possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) and loitering in the 300 block of Madison.
-- Police arrested Calvin Redmon, 23, on charges of assault on a family or household member, battery and resisting arrest, following an incident in the 400 block of Stemac. Redmon allegedly hit the female victim and was reportedly intoxicated when police arrived. The report said Redmon refused to comply with the officer when he was placing him under arrest. As the officer tried to gain control of Redmon's right arm, he clenched his fist and continued waving his arms in an aggressive manner, the report said. The officer later sprayed Redmon with OC spray, but he continued resisting arrest, according to the report. Redmon apparently refused to get into the police car. When another officer arrived, Redmon allegedly punched the assisting officer with both fists simultaneously, as they tried to get him in the patrol car. The officer deployed his Taser and they got Redmon partially in the car, according to the report. "Redmon continued to resist and would not get fully into the car," the report said. "I was forced to cycle the Taser again to get Redmon into the car." Redmon was transported to the Mississippi County Detention Center. The officer had a bleeding lip and swollen right eye.
