Fire destroys Monette B&B Restaurant

B&B Restaurant in Monette (215 West Drew Street) was destroyed by fire Saturday evening. Owners Terry and Barbara Carr purchased the building in 2006, where they operated a family restaurant from 2006 until 2010. They returned in 2013 and have been there since.

Carr said they close the restaurant at 1 p.m. on Saturdays and there were no signs of a problem.

They got a call about 5:45 p.m. saying smoke was coming from the building.

Carr praised the Monette Fire Department and the Caraway Fire Department.

"We are thankful no one was hurt," Carr said. "Our hope is to build back in the same location if it is possible. The people of Monette have been good to us."
