ARMOREL-- Coach Gary Burnside's Armorel Tigers kept the game close, 48-32, at halftime, but the reigning 2A state champions, the Earle Bulldogs, went on a run in the third quarter to finish the game off, 92-46.
Leading the way for the Tigers was junior Monroe Carr with nine points, six rebounds, and one steal.
Also contributing was junior Jonathan Willard with nine points and two assists. Senior Andrew Lannon had seven points, two rebounds, and one assist.
Travis Rogers led the way for the Bulldogs with 19 points. BJ Murray, Kevon Smith and Q. Williams also added 14 points.
The Tigers next game will be at home on Tuesday against KIPP Blytheville.
Earle 66, Armorel 18
The Earle Lady Bulldogs, also reigning 2A state champions, never trailed against coach Shannon Miller's Lady Tigers.
McKinley Carr was the leading scorer for the Lady Tigers with seven points.
Roshala Scott led the way for the Lady Bulldogs with 20 points.
The Lady Tigers next game will host KIPP Blytheville on Monday.
Earle 75, Armorel 23
The Armorel junior boys were defeated, 75-23, on Tuesday night by the Earle Bulldogs.
Leading scorer for the Junior Tigers was Michael Peterson with five points, Spencer Towery contributed four points.
Leading the way for the Junior Bulldogs was Lee Andrew Millow with 19 points and Riley Davis with 15 points.
Earle 38, Armorel 29
The Armorel Junior lady Tigers lost a close one, 38-29, on Tuesday night to the junior Lady Bulldogs.
Briley Miller contributed eight points in the loss to the Bulldogs.
Colbi Maples led the Junior Lady Bulldogs with 17 points and Tasja Hughes contributed 15 points.
The Junior Lady Tigers host KIPP on Monday.
