James Henderson Risinger
James Henderson Risinger, 88, of Paragould, went to be with his Lord and Savior, following his death, Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016, at the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. Born in Kennett, Mo., he was the son of the late Lawrence and Tishie Sissom Risinger and was raised in Cardwell. Following his service in the U.S. Army, he spent many years in Flint, Mich., where he retired from General Motors after 32 years of service. Upon retirement, he made his home in North Ft. Myers, Fla., before moving to Paragould in 2012. He loved to hunt, fish, work in his garden, and do any kind of handyman work.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wives, two brothers, Melvin Risinger and Eddie Risinger, an infant daughter, a daughter, Teresa Risinger, and a son, Ricky Risinger.
Survivors include four sons, Dennis Risinger and wife Cindy of Paragould, Gary Risinger of Baltimore, Md., Jamie Risinger of California, and Butch Risinger of Georgia; two stepsons, Larry Holcomb and wife Iretha of Paragould and Hershel Holcomb and his wife, Brenda of Flowery Branch, Ga.; one stepdaughter,
Karen Beliew and husband, Larry of Paragould; three grandchildren, Dennis Risinger, Jr. and wife, Angela, Josh Risinger and wife Shelly, Denise Middleton and husband, Chris; six great-grandchildren, Reece Middleton, Will Risinger, Makenzie Hampton, Ty Middleton, Bryson Hampton, and Rossy Joe Risinger; a sister-in-law, Connie Risinger Malone; several nieces, nephews, and his dogs, Winston and Katie.
Graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Cardwell Cemetery with Rev. Bill McCracken officiating. Burial is under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Leachville.
The family prefers any memorials be made to The Alzheimers Association or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's research.
