Jackie Vernon Williams
Monette -- Jackie Vernon Williams,61, departed this life Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016, in Jonesboro. He was born July 10, 1955, in Doniphan, Mo., the son of Buddy Williams and Wynnette Johnson Williams. Jackie was a truck driver for many years and for the past 15 years was a car dealer in Lake City. He married Suzanne Crocker in 1989 and they enjoyed 27 years together. His most enjoyable hobby was dirt track racing.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Jan Burchett.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Williams of the home; one son, Chad Williams of Lake City; his parents, Buddy and Wynnette Williams of Fairdealing, Mo.; one brother, Jimmy Williams (Verla) of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; two sisters, Judy Allen of Little Rock and Joy Boyer (Dale) of Dexter, Mo., and several, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, at the Monette Church of Christ, with Mr. Ron Langston officiating. Interment followed in Cane Island Cemetery near Lake City.
Friends visited at the church, 1 p.m. until service time.
Pallbearers were Wade Gathright, Scott Combs, Jeff Spencer, Blake Burns, Michael Nichols and Blake Liscomb. Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Atkinson and Tarrell Watkins.
There was a time during services set aside for personal eulogies.
Funeral services were entrusted to Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.
