Two local businesses reported robbery incidents over the weekend.
According to Blytheville Criminal Investigations Division Commander Capt. Scott Adams, thieves robbed Flash Market, 1305 East Main Street, around 10:15 Saturday night.
Then, about 45 minutes later, several black males unsuccessfully attempted to rob KFC on North 6th Street.
Adams said Flash Market employees told police that two black males entered the store with firearms.
"One of the offenders confronted a customer, pointed a gun at them and ordered their property," Adams said. "The other offender came around the counter, pointed the firearm and stole money from the cash register. Both offenders then fled the store going east. No one was hurt during the incident."
Police learned about the attempted robbery of KFC around 11:20 a.m. Sunday, when management contacted them.
KFC management told police that a night shift manager called around 11 p.m. Saturday saying that several black males wearing masks and gloves attempted to rob the store.
"The employees advised the males were armed with handguns and that they did not get into the store because the employees had already locked to doors," Adams said. "Officers did review video of the incident."
