Blytheville police are investigating an aggravated burglary around 11 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of East Missouri.
"When officers arrived they spoke with the homeowner who stated that she and her niece, and her five juvenile children were inside the residence when they heard a loud 'noise,'" said Capt. Scott Adams, the Blytheville Criminal Investigations Division commander.
The victim told police that the door on the west side of the residence was forced open and five unknown black males, wearing masks, entered the home.
"The victims both advised that one of the unknown males was carrying a firearm and shot one time upon entering the kitchen," Adams said. "The offender(s) then ordered them all to the floor and held the firearm to their heads demanding to have their purses. The offender(s) then grabbed the purse containing an unknown amount of US currency, bankcard, and social security cards, and ran out of the residence through the same point of entry. While on scene, officers noticed a hole in the living room wall consistent with a bullet and one 40 cal shell casing in the kitchen. There were no injuries sustained from this incident and no other property was reported stolen or damaged."
