A local man was arrested on drug charges, following a domestic disturbance on South Ruddle Saturday night.

Around 7 that night, Blytheville police arrested 41-year-old Jonathan Mckemie on charges of possession of controlled substance without a prescription and driving on suspended driver's license (third offense).

According to Capt. Scott Adams, Mckemie was pulling away from 1102 South Ruddle Road Lot 8 in a maroon Ford Explorer when police arrived to investigate the domestic disturbance call.

After stopping the vehicle, Mckemie told police that noting was going on.

Police then spoke with 31-year-old Barbara Mckemie, who said there had been a domestic incident, but she did not wish to press charges, Adams said.

"Officers discovered that Mckemie was on active supervision with probation/parole and officers also had prior experience with him having narcotics in his possession," Adams said. "Officers then searched Mckemie's truck and found a plastic baggie of 20 blue pills under the passenger seat.

Police identified the pills as Alprazolam (1 mg), a generic for Xanax.

Mckemie was taken into custody and officers also located an empty prescription bottle in his pocket belonging to his wife for Carisoprodol dated March 22, 2016, according to Adams.
