On Friday, Armorel catcher Andrew Lannon verbally committed to Arkansas State University.
"They've got a good catching coach there that will help me progress and help me play after college," Lannon said.
Lannon is part of Coach Charlie Brown's back-to-back state title runs and will be a senior in the upcoming school year.
"This is a great opportunity for Drew, and he's defiantly one of the best catcher in the state. They got a great baseball player," Brown said.
In Lannon's junior season he hit .358 and belted the Tigers only home run on the year. Behind the plate the all-stater threw out more than his share of baserunners.
"Coach Brown and Coach Dobbs, they always put me through the hard work and they help me get to the level I need to get to," Lannon said. " Coach Brown is one of the best coaches in the state, he can help make the players not so talented, good, and that's why he always has a good program.
"Also my parents, they help me get to all the tournaments and showcases so I can showcase my talents."
