Monday night, the Blytheville City Council's Code Enforcement Committee sent a request for a new code enforcement truck to the Finance and Purchasing Committee.
The city will use police and fire tax funds if the request is approved.
Code Enforcement has one truck and three code enforcement officers.
Also, assistant police chief Ricky Jefferson reported that the city has been inundated with trees hanging over the streets.
He noted the city has completed a lighting project on Third Street, between Chickasawba and Ash Street, to go along with several upgrades on Main Street.
Jefferson reported that there were 248 cases generated and 194 cleared in June with 34 certified letters mailed and 35 work orders. The city issued 26 citations and 83 notices.
The Police and Fire Committee also met Monday night, sending a request for four police vehicles to the Finance Committee.
The Police Department is requesting three Ford Interceptor SUVs and a Dodge Interceptor Sedan. The total of the four vehicles is $122,846.
