Two individuals were arraigned on several charges, after leading police on a chase and hitting a Mississippi County Sheriff's Office vehicle head-on Saturday night.
David Edwards, 38, and Samantha Krech, 26, face multiple charges in the incident. Krech is accused of aggravated assault, criminal mischief and theft by receiving, while Edwards is charged with aggravated assault, breaking and entering, failure to appear, fleeing, parole violation and theft by receiving.
According to the Mississippi County Sheriff's Office, officers responded to a criminal mischief call that occurred on ECR 262 ( Taylor Farm Shop). Edwards and Krech allegedly broke into the shop and stole different types of tools, two battery chargers, a welder, a chainsaw, along with many other items.
The report said the two suspects struck a Mississippi County Sheriff's vehicle head-on and preceded for another 10 minutes before being taken into custody and transported to the county jail.
Blytheville police assisted deputies in the chase.
The Sheriff's Office alerted Blytheville officers of the pursuit of a brown 2012 Nissan Versa.
"The fleeing vehicle struck the curb and cut through a yard at the corner of Adams and 10th damaging the rear drivers side tire," the BPD report said. "The fleeing vehicle was stopped by a Blytheville Police unit making physical contact with it coming to rest in the roadway of Willow Street just east of Division.
The driver, Edwards, and passenger, Krech, surrendered to deputies at the scene.
Some items were found in the back of the vehicle, and some more were found at the suspects' residence at 3718 Ray Lane in Blytheville. Damage to the Mississippi County Sheriff's Dept. vehicle is estimated to be around $5,000. Edwards' bond is set at $75,000 and Krech's is $30,000.
