Rick Johnson

Rick Johnson, 69, of Blytheville passed from this life on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Rick was born in Utica, NY to the late Fred and Betty Marcus Johnson. After high school he joined the US Navy where he served as a Cryptographer on the USS LaSalle. He later went on to graduate from Arkansas State University with an Education Degree. During his career he worked as a grant writer for East Arkansas Planning & Development District in Jonesboro, and director for the Head Start Program in Helena. He retired as an economic developer and grant writer and administrator for the Blytheville-Gosnell Regional Airport Authority. He was of the Episcopal faith.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Alice Kelly Johnson of Blytheville; daughter, Natalie Harris and husband Harrison of Sherman, TX; sister, Betty Zane Wenzel and husband Jerry of Helena; grandson, Zane Harris of Sherman, TX; aunt, Joan Minor of Roswell, GA; nephew, Patrick Minor and his wife, Catherine of Rocky Face, GA; niece, Nicole Wenzel of Stamford, CT.
