ARMOREL-Trailing 5-2 in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Armorel Lady Tigers exploded for eight runs in the inning and held on for a 10-8 win over the Piggott Lady Mohawks Monday night.

Madison Beal started for the Lady Tigers. Beal allowed five unearned runs on one hit in two innings. Katie Weld was credited with the win allowing three runs on three hits while striking out eight in five innings of relief work.

Piggott jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the first two innings. Armorel plated two runs in the third before their eight run fifth inning.

Beal (2-4, 2 RBIs and a run scored), Weld (1-3 with a run scored), Olivia Luttrell (1-4, 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored), Rylee Nelson (1-3, 3 RBIs and a run scored), Brooke Trout (1-4, RBI and a run scored), Amanda Allison (1-3, RBI and a run scored) and Emily Gentry (1-3, RBI and a run scored) led the Lady Tiger offense.

Armorel improves to 5-3 on the year. They head to Maynard Tuesday to take on the Tigers in a 1A-3 East matchup.
