Thelma Mae Morris

Thelma Mae Morris, 78, longtime Manila resident and widow of Orville "Cotton" Morris, passed from this life Saturday, March 5, 2016, at the Monette Manor Nursing Center. Born in Steele, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Claude and Effie Mae Lott Atkinson and had lived in Manila for the past 56 years. She was a retired seamstress and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Manila.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, Alene Clark, and a son, Gary Morris.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Darlene Morris of Manila; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherri and Jim French of Paragould and Juanita and Bryan Cherry of Manila; one brother, Bill Atkinson of Janesville, Wis.; one sister, Alice Brown of Iowa. She also leaves 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday March 10, in the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Ray Dill officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
