Blytheville police are investigating a domestic battery report in the 1000 block of West Moultrie.
According to the police report, around 12:30 a.m. Friday, two juveniles fled from the home to escape domestic abuse, with one and his mother having been hit with a bat.
The report said the boys' mother and her boyfriend, the offender, got into an argument at his house. When the boyfriend hit the woman and pulled her hair, the 15-year-old juvenile tried to break up the altercation, and the man grabbed a baseball bat and swung it at both juveniles, according to the report.
"The oldest juvenile stated he put his hands up to protect himself and his little brother when (the offender) struck him in the right forearm," the report said. "The juvenile did have visible injuries as well as some swelling to the right forearm consistent with the allegations. (The offender) then attempted to hit the younger juvenile when the brother pushed him out of harms way."
The juveniles then fled the house and sought shelter at a relative's house. At the police station, the mother told officers that the boyfriend did hit her and her oldest child with a bat. "She stated she was not aware that (the offender) could be violent, however, the juveniles advised he is always violent and aggressive when they are around him," the report said.
Medics arrived at the police station to transport the older juvenile, who needed medical attention at Great River Medical Center.
