Edna Sue Welch Swanner
Edna Sue Welch Swanner, 77, passed away Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, at St. Bernards Medical Center. She was born May 18, 1938, to the late Jarrett Welch and late Florence Welch Crowell. Mrs. Swanner, a long-time resident of Jonesboro, grew up in Monette. She attended Community Fellowship Church.
She is survived by her son, Tony Busby (Lori) of West Memphis; two daughters, Suzie Busby Morledge of Jonesboro and Tammy Swanner Lindsay (John) of Brookland; three brothers, Charles Welch (Ramona) of Little Rock, Cleatus Welch of Waco, Texas, and Wayne Welch (Gloria) of St. Helens, Ore.; three grandchildren, Molly Grace Busby of West Memphis, Austin Ray Brewer of Brookland and Spencer Morledge of Jonesboro; many nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jim D. Busby, and a brother, Larry Welch.
A celebration of her life was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dave Burgess officiating. Burial followed at Monette Memorial Cemetery.
The family received friends from 11 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Honored to serve as pallbearers were Charlie Welch, Cleatus Welch, Chuck Welch, Barry Vaughn, Mark Vaughn and Mark Hayes and as honorary pallbearers, Wayne Welch, Pete Hayes and Bob Shackelford.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House or Alzheimer's Association.
