Blytheville police are investigating a shooting Sunday night in the 500 block of South Franklin.

According to BPD assistant police chief Ricky Jefferson, around 8:44 p.m. Sunday, police responded to Great River Medical Center in reference to an individual who had been shot.

Officers met with Marquis Spencer, 27, and he told police that he was walking in the area of the 500 block of South Franklin when he heard approximately four shots. He then noticed that he had been shot in the hip. Suspect(s) are unknown. Spencer was treated and released.
