Monday morning, Main Street Blytheville executive director Tucker Nunn said Al Roker will be in Blytheville on Tuesday morning, not today (Monday) as originally thought. "I just talked to the producer and now they are saying it will be tomorrow (Tuesday) at 11 (a.m.)," Nunn said...

According to Tucker Nunn, executive director of Main Street Blytheville, Al Roker is set to be at the historic Greyhound Bus Station at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

"The latest information, which there is a little conflict, is 10 a.m. Tuesday," Nunn said. "The Today show producers are saying 11 a.m. but the News Director from Jonesboro, who will be shooting the event says 10 a.m. We have to translate from Eastern time to our time, which means 10 a.m."

Nunn said the information he is providing to the public comes directly from Today Show producers and those directly involved in the production of the event.

"This is not anything that I'm making it up it is coming from the Today Show producers," Nunn said. "We need to remember this is a T.V. program so things can change and Mr. Roker is attempting an almost impossible feat of traveling to all 50 states in just 5 days. I don't think we need to blame anybody. We actually had a great time at the bus station this morning."

Nunn said those that showed up Monday morning enjoyed food and listening to bands from Blytheville School and KIPP School practice.

"Mr. Roker is going to be in Blytheville for half an hour and we are going to have a great time showcasing our town, our bus station, our students and the Lights of the Delta," Nunn said. "I encourage everyone to be at the bus station at 10 a.m. and if Mr. Roker is running late we will have a great time while we wait listening to the students of our community play."

Nunn is updating the Main Street Blytheville Facebook page with all the latest information.

There was some confusion Sunday night regarding Roker's trip to Blytheville.

KAIT meteorologist Ryan Vaughan wrote on Twitter Sunday that Roker will arrive Tuesday, not Monday, as originally thought by many in Blytheville.

On Sunday night, Nunn said he hadn't been told that Roker would arrive Tuesday instead of Monday.

Producers called Nunn Monday morning to verify the date.

Monday morning, Main Street Blytheville's Facebook page said: "ROKERTHON DELAYED BY WEATHER! Al Roker's Rokerthon is running a day plus behind schedule... Al is now expected in Blytheville Tomorrow morning around 11am.That's Tuesday, November 10th at 11am. This information was relayed by Mr. Roker's producer, Sean Reis..."

Nunn has been working with NBC producer Sean Reis, whose email to Nunn dated Oct. 27 indicated the arrival would be Monday.

The Courier News obtained a copy of the email, which reads as follows:

"Hi there Tucker,

Greetings from the Today Show! Thank you for talking to me. Here are the particulars.

Starting Friday, November 6th in Honolulu, our Meteorologist Al Roker will attempt to set a Guinness World Record by doing a weather forecast from all 50 States in one week. With your help, we would like the Arkansas location to be the Greyhound Bus Station in Blytheville. We are using all kind of different modes of transportation to get around so we thought your location would be a natural fit.

For starters, we would hit your location around 10am on Monday November 9th. In order to get the record, he would meet the local NBC affiliate there, and do a forecast on tape for them. We would love to try to make this work any way we can because it's such a terrific location. Let me know if you have any more questions. We would love for your location to be part of this!

I look forward to hearing from you, and appreciate your time. Please send along your contact info when you can.

Look forward to working with you.

Yours,

Sean
