Dorothy Gillett
Mrs. Dorothy Mahan Gillett, 90, of Dyess, passed from this life Saturday, October 31, 2015 at her home. Born to Evan and Willie Martin Mahan, Dorothy was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was a member of Dyess Central Baptist Church and had a strong Christian faith. Dorothy loved her church and her family. Her hobby was crocheting. The main enjoyments in her life were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar Gillett; two brothers, Durward Mahan and Henry Mahan; one sister, Kate Maughan and a great-granddaughter, Alicia Williams.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Ann Williams of Manila, Patricia Sullins (Louis) of Meridian, Miss., and Gary "Butch" Gillett (Derinda) of Dyess;
Eight grandchildren, Boomer Williams, Austin Williams, Sherri Espey, Stacey Richmond, Mikel Sullins, Leslie Lancaster, Bethany Sullins and Jennifer Gillett;
Twenty great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
A graveside service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 in the Dogwood Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Mike Gonzales officiating. The family received friends Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home.
