BROCKWELL --The Armorel Tiger basketball teams split a pair of games against Lead Hill in the Bad Boy Mowers Classic at Brockwell Wednesday night with the boys winning their second game in as many nights, 56-30, and the girls dropping their season opener, 33-26.
Armorel used a 15-8 second quarter and led 30-15 at halftime on their way to a 56-30 win over Lead Hill.
The Tigers (2-0) led 15-11 after the first period, 30-15 at the break and 46-28 heading into the fourth.
Nash Winters scored 12 of his game-high 14 points in the first half. Nieko Sorrentino chipped in 10 points, and Dalton Emberg added nine to lead the Tigers.
Zack Cain led Lead Hill with eight points.
Lead Hill jumped out to a 9-2 lead after one period on their way to a 33-26 win over the Armorel Lady Tigers in the girls bracket.
Lead Hill led 15-9 at halftime and 25-15 heading into the fourth.
Ayriell Appleton led the lady Tigers with 10 points and 12 boards. Rachel McKuin scored eight points and dished out four assists. Jenna Barnard and Emily Southern each scored four points a piece.
Both teams head to Lake City Friday night to take on the Rebels. Girls junior high tipoff is scheduled for 4 p.m., followed by junior boys, senior girls and senior boys.
