Blytheville police are investigating a missing city of Blytheville Wastewater Department truck.

According to the police report, Macario Chism, a Wastewater Department employee noticed his Wastewater truck missing in the alley behind his apartment in the 1200 block of Hearn Street, around 8:30 a.m., Saturday morning, when he was about to go to work.

The truck is a maroon 2003 Club Cab with approximately 150,000 miles on it. The truck was used when the city purchased it in 2014. Chism told authorities that he noticed his wastewater truck was missing Saturday morning from the alleyway behind his residence when he attempted to go to work. Chism was supposed to work about a half day and check the city's wastewater ponds Saturday morning.

Chism said he had no idea who could have taken the vehicle and that he did contact the head of the Blytheville Wastewater Department, Richard DePriest. Police took down Chism's statement and have filed the vehicle as stolen.

Chism has been dismissed from his job.

More information will be released as it becomes available.
