Janis Mitchell
Janis Mitchell, 71, of Manila, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015, at Great River Medical Center. Mrs. Mitchell was born March 18, 1944, in Newark to the late Roy and Mable Hodges Hamilton. Mrs. Mitchell was a member of the Ravenden Baptist Church, retired owner of Jan's Video store in Manila and Jonesboro, graduated in 1961 from Manila High School, enjoyed fishing, dancing, singing, and spending time with family, especially grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Jimmy Mitchell of the home; two daughters, Sondra Walls of Heber Springs and Janet Gail Mitchell-Spargo of Charlotte Hall, Md.; two brothers, Gary Hamilton of Jonesboro and Albert Hamilton of Escondido, Calif.; one sister, Wanda Wilson of El Cajon, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ted Regan; two sons, Rickey Regan and Steven Mitchell; one daughter, Donna Adams; two brothers, Roy Hamilton, Jr. and Gene Hamilton; three sisters, Betty Barber, Mary Nelson and Brenda Hamilton.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at the First Baptist Church, Caraway with Bro. Gary Galloway officiating. Interment followed at the Caraway Cemetery under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.
The family received visitors at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until service time.
Pallbearers were Gary Galloway, Kyle Clements, Jeremy Eldridge, Michael Spargo, Tyler Lewis, Sam Fleming and Cody Hamilton.
