It was a full house for the 2015 Wrestling for a Cure on Friday, Oct. 2. Wrestlers volunteered their time with the proceeds going to the Buffalo Island Relay for Life. The fans got a full night of wrestling, the opportunity to win a 50/50 drawing, bid on tee shirts from Son of a Legend James Lee and the K9s, and other items.
The evening was kicked off with Judy Hampton singing the National Anthem.
Buffalo Island Relay for Life chair Brenda Matheny expressed her appreciation to the wrestlers who volunteered their time and talents and the fans who helped raise money for the Relay for Life.
Ticket sales, concession and donations raised over $1,900.
Brian Lee of Manila has always been part of the Wrestling for a Cure events held in Manila but was not able to participate this year due to his own diagnosis of cancer. Brian was taken to the hospital the day of the wrestling. Matheny sent Brian a survivor tee shirt. Paige VanBrook of Hoxie and Tosha Camp Bouser were presented with survivor tee shirts. VanBrook had taken her 15th chemotherapy treatment earlier on Friday.
Cannon, one of the wrestlers, won a cash match and donated the money to the Relay for Life.
