The following are reports from the Blytheville Police Department.

Monday, Oct. 5

-- Police investigated a burglary in the 800 block of Mayfair. A television was reported missing.

-- Officers took a general information report at Great River Medical Center.

-- Police took a report of a missing laptop in the 400 block of Dougan. The laptop was issued by the Blytheville School District. Blytheville's IT department was able to identify the offender as the student's older brother. The offender allegedly sold the laptop to an individual in Gosnell.

-- Police took a theft by deception report a Razorback Liquor. The store cashed a $7,247.21 Vision Insurance Check that was returned by the bank.

-- Police took a report of stolen medicine. At Hard Hat, on East Highway 18, a woman said her husband stole her medication. He denied the allegation.

-- Officers investigated a domestic battery in the 800 block of Mayfair. The mother said she and her juvenile daughter were arguing and she slapped the girl on her face. The daughter hit her back on the head, the report said.The mother had a scratch on her forehead that was bleeding. The juvenile said she didn't hit her mother, claiming the mother caused the injury to herself.

Tuesday, Oct. 6

-- Officers arrested Melvin Sharkey on charges of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), loitering, fleeing and resisting arrest in the 1600 block of West Street.
