Harold's Auction opened Friday night at a new location, 21213 East Highway 18, Monette. Harold Stallings has over 50 years in business in the area. Harold's Auction is a family owned business with three generations of partners.
Harold Stallings, Greg Stallings and Adam Stallings have been working since June on remodeling the building, formerly PaPa's Flea Market.
Greg and Adam are both auctioneers, as well as business owners. Greg has Harold's Furniture in Manila and Osceola and Adam is the owner of Adam's Tire and Auto Service.
The auctions will be held starting at 6:30 Fridays. The business moved from main street in Manila where auctions have been held for several years.
The new building is centrally located between Blytheville, Jonesboro and Paragould. It is just miles from Leachville, Manila and Caraway. In addition to the large building, the new location has a large parking area.
There is about three acres and Harold is looking into opening a seasonal outside flea market.
The new building is handicapped accessible, comfortably seats 112 with room for additional chairs, has large display case, concession area, three bathrooms (also handicapped accessible), large storage area and display area. A large front porch area with lighting was added.
"It has been a lot of work but I think our customers will like it," Harold said.
Harold returned to Manila in 1973 and has been in business since.
The Stallings invite everyone to come out on Friday nights and see what they have for sale. The bidding is lively and there is always lots of bargains to be found.
