Buffalo Island Central's Lady golfers completed their season with a third place finish in the Class 2A State Tournament Tuesday at the Holiday Island Golf Course in Eureka Springs.

The Lady Mustangs carded a team score of 362, 11 strokes behind runner-up Foreman who shot a 351. Spring Hill's Lady Bears captured the state title, shooting a winning round of 304.

Ashley Field and Jona Carmichael fired rounds of 120 while Kensie Walker posted a 122 for BIC.

"The girls had a very good year," said BIC Coach Carey Cossey. "We finished runner-up in the Blazer Invitational, we were district champions and we capped it off with a third place finish in the state tournament. If we would've made a few more putts and caught a break or two, we could have finished a little higher. I am very proud of this team."

BIC'S boys are participating in state tournament play this week. Complete coverage will appear in next week's Town Crier.
